Winter Storm Clean UpFeb 25, 2021
Hays County WCID No. 1 and No. 2 (Hays WCID) is providing resources to residents that have suffered tremendous damages to their homes due to ice and snow over the past week. We have come together as a community to help those impacted by the winter events.
Hays County WCID has negotiated a contract with Texas Disposal Systems (TDS). They are making best effort to get around the community to pick up over 2 weeks of trash we have collected.
In addition, Hays County WCID has directed TDS to deliver a 40-yard trash dumpster to assist those homeowners who have experienced water damage to their homes. The dumpster was delivered today, and we have noticed some residents are using the dumpster for items that are unrelated to the devastating water damages in their homes. We ask the community to use the dumpster ONLY for those needing to discard damaged items such as carpet and sheetrock.
The TDS contract with Hays WCID allows residents 2 bulk pickups per year at your home free of charge. All you need to do is call TDS at 800-375-8375.
This is a picture taken today of the dumpster located at the Belterra Centre parking lot. Most of the trash that has been collected is NOT from home damages.
For yard debris such as down limbs and trees we have set up a collection area at the Belterra Centre.
We ask that you please use the greenspace to the right of parking lot rather than dropping off at the dumpster as this impedes TDS access to haul off the dumpster. Refer to the map below as reference to the areas to drop off.
If you are unable to get your limbs to the collection site please contact Inframark at email@example.com and will do what we can to assist you with pick up.
The dumpster will be removed Monday. Yard waste collection will run until March 10th.
Below is a map of where the dumpster and yard waste collection sites are for your reference.
